About Us (FGUI)
There is consensus amongst many players in Ireland that there is not enough being done to grow the competitive side of the sport across the island.
The FootGolf Union of Ireland was formed in January 2019 under the name Irish FootGolf League to provide added competitive events for new and existing players across Ireland that offered an affordable entry into the game. In 2020, the league is focused on building towards our goal of being the main representative body for FootGolf in Ireland. Through a Par 3 Tour as well as Pro and Amateur Categories in our main tour, we will provide a vital and much needed boost to sport, hopefully allowing all footgolfers in Ireland with the opportunity to play more events than previously available.
Our aim is to grow the competitive game here in Ireland, encouraging and working with more golf courses to open their gates to the game while building towards our goal of having 60-80 players on average at every competition by 2022. We will also seek to build a more social community aspect to FootGolf to attract players of all backgrounds, genders and abilities.
The sport has so much to offer and truly is one of the most inclusive in the world.
