Name
Stan Brennan
Started Playing FootGolf
Started playing 2017 - just casually in my local course
First Competition
1st competition was the end of 2017, rocked up in me boots was told there not allowed. Had no astros so had to use my Asics runners and a size 5 GAA ball, honestly thought I had a chance of winning it going down.... finished about 30 shots behind the winner Kev Heelan ( thankfully I've closed the gap a little bit since 😀 )
Best Moment in FootGolf
Winning the Munster Open down in Shannon 2018 was pretty special as I won the competition outright beating the Pro's in my 1st proper year playing but definitely representing my country at the Footgolf World Cup in Morocco was best and proudest moment in Footgolf so far
Worst Moment in FootGolf
Getting injured a month before the World Cup and then trying to play through the pain barrier at it was my worst moment in Footgolf, still gives me trouble to this day. A valuable lesson that you need to warm up before playing
If you could win one tournament in FootGolf (not including the World Cup), what would it be?
The Irish Open on home soil would be pretty special to win but I'd have to say the UK Open as it's the biggest competition outside of the Would Cup with all the top players from around the world
If you had to pick a team of 4 Irish players, including yourself, who would be the other 3 that you would choose?
Hard question as I could any of the lads, I get on with everyone but 4ball of Irish players including myself would be...Aaron Connolly as he'll bring the sweets, Chris O'Driscoll as he's the most laid back chilled out character in Footgolf and Ste Sawyer who's just a nice guy who's company I enjoy being in and is an excellent player. That round would be filled with sweets, fun laughter and alot of insults 😂
Name 4 players in the world that you would love to play a competitive round of FootGolf with and why?
A fourball of non Irish players would be...
- Matty Perone who's the World Champion and an all round nice guy,
- Evgeniy Levchenko who has the sweetest left peg in Footgolf history ( Sorry to Shutes and Sawyer ) and is also an all round nice guy who's company I enjoyed the few times I've met him and lastly.......
- David Quigley. I like to enjoy my Footgolf and have a bit of a laugh so he'd provide some laughter and good Footgolf 😀⚽⛳
What Irish female sportswoman would you love to see playing FootGolf?
Stephanie Roche - 1 of Ireland's best soccer's players. Would like to test myself against her skills
